Welcome to Mrs. Richard's Room! We will be using this blog throughout the rest of the school year as a place for us to grow and reflect as active learners. You will be able to:

  • blog about books you have read throughout the year
  • check any assignments that you need to catch up on
  • view links for useful websites
  • discuss things we are working on in class
  • AND share your awesome work with your classmates, your parents, and other teachers--my favorite part
Thank you for being a part of our class!

Leap is almost over! You have done great so far! Two more days and then we will start the most anticipated book of our school year, The Scorch Trials. I am just as excited as you are to find out what happens to our favorite Gladers. Here is a video I found to get you ready for our next novel.

Yay! Phase 1 of LEAP testing is complete! I am so proud of you. You seemed to work very diligently today. Thank you for your hard work. It will pay off! On to Phase 2....

Hope this video helps you to get to know your teacher just a little bit better!
Eighth graders, as you prepare for the first part of the LEAP on Tuesday, know that I am so proud of you! You have worked very diligently these past few weeks, and I know it will pay off in your test scores. Get a good night's rest. Eat healthily, and don't stress. You know everything you need to know! For instance, what are the parts of a narrative? I know that you just rattled off in your brain--It's a story with characters, setting, and a plot, and the plot has a beginning, middle, and end. See, I told you! You know it all! Good luck! Break a leg! (By the way, "break a leg" is a common ______________________?... see, you're so ready!)
