Q: What do I need to do in your class to pass?
A: Come to class. Participate in discussions. Read your assigned reading. Study your vocabulary words. Be an active learner.
Q: If I forget to turn in a project or homework, can I turn it in late for partial credit?
A: Yes! Always turn it in! Late is better than never. For most assignments you will loose 5 points each day it is late. A 95 or 90 or 85 or 80 is better than a 0!
Q: How can I get ready to pass the LEAP?
A: Be an active learner in class, and we will go over everything you need to know!
Q: Have you always liked reading (almost all of my students ask me this)?
A: No, not at all! I remember arguing with my mom and crying because I was so mad that I had to read Island of the Blue Dolphins in the fourth grade for summer reading. It was miserable! I had to learn what types of genres I liked to read. After I read the first Harry Potter book the following year, I was hooked and have loved reading ever since. Don't give up! There is a book out their for you! Let me help you find it!
Welcome to Mrs. Richard's Room! We will be using this blog throughout the rest of the school year as a place for us to grow and reflect as active learners. You will be able to:
- blog about books you have read throughout the year
- check any assignments that you need to catch up on
- view links for useful websites
- discuss things we are working on in class
- AND share your awesome work with your classmates, your parents, and other teachers--my favorite part
Thank you for being a part of our class!
